Do you feel like you are in the flow sometimes?
Or do you feel a little blocked?
In our style of Aikido we focus on a more flowing practise.
This is the opposite to some other styles of practise in which people are taught to continually resist each other.
This resistance can create a bit of a resistant mind that is not in alignment with the principles we learn in Aikido.
After all, Aikido is “the way of harmony with Ki” and we should be seeking to flow with Ki in our techniques.
In the healing element of our style we are taught that blockages can arise in a persons system leading to ill health. These can be unblocked through sending Ki into the blocked area (applied through the finger tips).
When we get into our head more, our practise becomes more resistant, we lose connection with our Ki and overall our practise goes downhill.
Maintaining one point, extending ki and flowing with the technique are all aspects of how we develop in our training.
