Finding The Motivation To Train In Aikido

With any activity our motivation will go up and down over time.

Sometimes we can’t wait to go to training, other times it may feel like the last thing we want to do.

At those times its easy to start to question why are we training at all?

It is important to notice when your personal motivation is slipping and take action.

At one time, when my motivation for Aikido was at a low point I made a decision to commit to my training more than I had been.

I decided to go more often, become more consistent and focus more attention towards it.

I found that this alone brought back my motivation to train. My standards of attendance previously been slipping and this had an impact on my motivation.

Setting new goals and targets continually is also essential.

Many people drop off after achieving their black belt. Perhaps for them that was the main goal.

But if we want our train to have a greater impact on our life then we have to commit to goals that are beyond achieving a belt.

Consider the bigger and longer term benefits your training can have.
