Here are a few words other’s have shared about our Aikido classes in Glasgow:
“When I started Aikido I was probably at my lowest point. Through past trauma I was suffering with my mental health and making wrong choices. Some days were more difficult than others to even get out of the house. I received a leaflet about Aikido and was curious to try it. I turned up and watched one class and to be honest I wasn’t sure and convinced myself it wasn’t for me.
A few weeks later, I returned and tried again, only this time I stuck at it. My mental health started getting better, my body wasn’t in pain and I started getting stronger. One of my main fears is people judging me but you genuinely couldn’t meet a nicer and more supportive group. I couldn’t imagine not having Aikido now and can only thank Sensei Ronnie for his help throughout my journey even though he probably doesn’t realise the extent he has helped me”
“I just wanted to put it out here the positive effects this has had on me during an ongoing and difficult time in my personal life:
– the calming effect this has had on me in the face of negativity
– more awareness of myself and the way I react to certain situations
– more confidence in myself to achieve my goals, especially my Aikido training goals
– I think my enthusiasm may have influenced my eldest son to start on a martial arts journey of his own which he is really enjoying
– as a single mother of an autistic son with no direct family near me the club has opened up to me a new set of like minded people and new friends too
– a new sense of purpose in my life
– and even greater awareness of the need to keep active both physically and mentally as I get older. Thank you to all of my teachers for your fantastic training and support”
